My story as a web designer
My design journey started 14 years ago when I decided to create a website as an outlet for my food nutrition side-hustle. I thought I had it all figured out, my plan was to use my blog to showcase my knowledge and recruit new business.
My friend who is a web developer agreed to make me a simple yet professional website. He built me the most beautiful website you ever did see. It was love at first sight… until it wasn’t.
The moment I tried to make any changes myself, I realised that I had no idea what I was doing. I may as well have been trying to read ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics.
Yeah, it was THAT bad.
So, with a heavy heart, I had to shut the whole thing down. But instead of wallowing in my defeat, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
After some serious Googling, YouTubing, and possibly a little rocking back and forth (don’t judge), I finally found a platform that made sense to me: WordPress.
Fast forward a few weeks… okay, fine, months of trial and error and lots of broken things, and I had not only rebuilt my old nutrition site but become obsessed with web design and development.
In fact, I became so passionate about it that I shut down my new nutrition site and ditched my health food business.
So, goodbye health food business, hello helping local businesses with their websites, SEO, sales funnels, and content marketing strategy.
Let’s just say, closing that first website was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

I use responsive design to ensure that all the sites I build work just as well on a small screen as they do on a big screen.
